Crecent Hill, the pleasant farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert SCOTT, was the scene of a pretty wedding last Wednesday evening when their daughter, Miss Bessie, was united in marriage to Clark MILLS of Hesperia in the presence of nearly 50 relatives and friends.

The house was artistically decorated with ferns from the woods and with roses from the rose garden.

Promptly at nine o'clock the bridal party descended the stairs. The groom and best man, Sidney PARKTON came first, and took their places before a great bank of roses to await the bride, who came leaning on the arm of her father and proceded by the ring bearer, little Miss Agnes SCOTT, who bore the ring in a big white rose.

The bridesmaid, Miss Altha MOON, followed and as the bridal party slowly took their places, Mrs Hazel WATSON, cousin of the bride, sang 'Oh, Promise Me'.

The ceremony was performed by the Reverend John Baretz of Hesperia with the simple and impressive ring service and the soft strains of the Mendelssohn Wedding March, played by Miss Madeline BERGER, lent an added beauty to the solemn words of the wedding ritual.

The bride was beautifully gowned in white marquisette trimmed with lace and satin and carried a bouquet of cream roses. The bridesmaid was daintily gowned in pink and carried pink roses. The groom and best man were dressed in the conventional black. All the ladies among the bride's relatives were gowned in white.

After the congratulations for the happy couple, delicious refreshments of ice cream and cake were served while guests listened to some music and singing, one song being especially worthy of mention which was composed by Mrs. MARVIN, an aunt of the bride, in honor of the bridegroom, and was called, 'The Homecoming of the Utah'.

The gifts were many, useful and beautiful and were fitting expressions of the love and esteem which this couple are held.

Mr. and Mrs. MILLS are two of the most popular young people of this community. Mr. MILLS had just completed a four year term of service in the United States Navy from which he received an honorable discharge from the position of Quartermaster.

He is a young man of sterling qualities and deserves his good fortune in finding such a bride as Miss Bessie. Mrs. MILLS is one of the most active members in the Hesperia Grange, being its present secretary and is also an active worker in the Hesperia Order of the Eastern Star. She is a lady of great intelligence and fine character and is loved by everyone.

The young people will make their home with Mr. and Mrs. SCOTT and Mr. Mills will help to work the farm.

The Union joins with their many friends in wishing them a long and prosperous life.

Guests from out of town were: Mr and Mrs Melvin SCOTT of Holton, Mrs Dell FULLER and mother, Mrs SCOTT of Muskegon, and Mr and Mrs MARVIN, Mrs LOCKWOOD and Mrs WATSON and daughter Hazel from Coopersville.
